Defending multispecialty contributions to FPS

Multidisciplinary nature of facial plastic surgery at stake:

The multidisciplinary nature of the EAFPS is one of the most important foundations of your Academy. It is the position of the EAFPS that the complexity of the face and direct visibility of surgical procedures in the face deserve input from different specialties, each contributing cutting edge surgical skills, techniques, and expertise. From the Facial Plastic Times

The other outstanding gathering takes place in Europe in May. I am referring of course to the 7th IFFPSS Congress, Nose and Face World, in Rome, Italy, May 9-12, 2012. This very special event is co-sponsored by the AAFPRS with the IFFPSS and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS). Professor Pietro Palma, president of the EAFPS, is the president of this Congress. This event promises to offer extraordinary educational, social, and cultural exchanges on a global scale.

The continuing achievements of the EAPFS would not have been possible without the resourcefulness of the General Secretary Abel-Jan Tasman, the unerring accountancy of the Treasurer Antonio Sousa Vieira, the exceptionally poignant guidance from the Chairmen of the Standing Committees and the National Delegates who skillfully turn the essential wheels and cogs of our engine. I would like also to express my grateful thanks to our secretary Ms. Gabi Behncke for her special dedication to our Academy.
